In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) with Jadestone Energy Petroleum Company – JSE (United Kingdom-UK) and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) have just signed a gas trading framework agreement of Nam Du – U Minh gas field.
Nam Du – U Minh gas field including Nam Du gas fields as Block 46/07 and U Minh field as Block 51 located on the eastern of the Malay – Tho Chu basin, offshore Vietnam, with an area of 4,677 km2 at water level in Vietnam offshore with an area of 4677 km2 with about 50 meters deep.
The project was approved by the Prime Minister for on-site gas reserves in 2015 – 2016. Nam Du – U Minh field is estimated to add about 5.6 billion cubic meters of gas supply during the stabilization period for the Southwest region.
All gas sources at the field will be fed into the PM3-CAA pipeline system (existing) to supply PVN’s Gas – Power – Fertilizer in Ca Mau of PVN.
On the other hand, gas fuel from the Nam Du – U Minh field will ensure energy supply and food security for Ca Mau province in particular, as well as the Southwest region in general.
Based on the signed framework agreement, PV GAS, JSE, and PVN will accelerate the negotiation progress, towards signing the Gas Trading Agreement of Nam Du – U Minh Field.
